In 2018, the Department of Medicine (DoM) launched a competition to support identified Research Networks with seed funding. The goal of this grant was to provide support to successful networks, in the hope that they would be able to leverage the grant in pursuit of additional funding, while growing their networks. Three grants of $50,000 were awarded. The DoM is now launching a new call for Network Seed Fund grants.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of insulin, the Banting & Best Diabetes Centre, Diabetes Action Canada, and the University of Toronto Department of Medicine have brought together a diverse group of speakers to share their diabetes stories.The Scientific Symposium will provide comprehensive updates on the latest advances in diabetes treatment and management through a series of online educational sessions and live, online, panel discussions with the experts.Speaker: Dr. Michael Cabanero
This Drucker Family Innovation Fund Grants is a joint funding program between the Banting & Best Diabetes Centre (BBDC) and the University Health Network/Mount Sinai Hospital Department of Medicine. Multiple grants will be awarded per year.
